I created some drawings for the Boardroom panels of the CcHub (Co-creation Hub) in Lagos, Nigeria. The project was a collaborative one between the members of the CcHub and I. The drawings were done on the spot after giving a brief presentation of my work, interacting with the members and looking at the space.

The CcHub is a space where develpers and designers converge to create and share ideas. the drawings created refelct the culture of the members and the tools, equipment they use. The drawing process was completely spontaneous with no sketches involved. Visual freestyling.

A Word of Art Residency. 2012.

I was a resident artist at the A word of Art in Cape Town, South Africa from June 18 - July 17 2012.

While in Cape Town, I painted a mural in Gympie street, Woodstock, Cape Town. Painting the mural gave me the opportunity to share my work and interact with people young and old in the community. It was a huge learning and sharing experience for me and I look forward to painting more walls locally and internationally. Process images of the mural from start to finish can be seen below.

About the mural.

Woodstock is home to lots of fabric houses and factory stores so I decided to paint a pattern on the wall as a way of acknowledging the connection Woodstock has with the textile and clothing industry and also as a way for me to connect further with my interests in the lines, colours and shapes that form patterns and give textiles their vibe.

Much gratitude to the landlord and his family for letting me paint their wall, much thanks to Mike Maka, LX ONE, Indi go and Ricky Lee Gordon for the painting tips and encouragement.

To the residents of Gympie Street and Cornwall ( young and old) who came by while I painted thank you for the support and the kind words.

Angel of Light Mural.

I participated in an Artist workshop(4-17 Ocotber 2010) organized by the Center for contemporary Arts, Lagos and the Triangle Artist Trust. While there, I painted a mural with The assistance of Kelani Abass based on my Angel of Light drawing.

We started in the dark and used a projector to get the drawing to the wall after which, we traced with brushes. The process images of the mural from start to finish can be viewed below.

Wall dimensions: 10ft x 14ft.

Angel of Light Mural rationale.

The 'Angel' of Light is a satirical take on Nigeria's unfortunate dependence on generators as its primary source of electric power. Taking inspiration from the fallen angels (demons) biblical story, the generators are winged machines that hold the promise of giving you all the electricity you need but, at a severe cost to your life and the environment.
