The SeekProject was one of twelve design studios commisioned by WarpStyle Japan to create Illustrations for Fuji Printing Co. Ltd's House Calendar 2012. The theme of 2012's calendar is "Childhood dreams becoming adult realities".

The illustrations we created feature children playing with paper planes and the children now adults, flying real planes. They were created for print and digital platforms. The illustrations were done by SeekProject partner and collaborator Samuel Achema.

I created an opentype cross platform font using Fontographer. It's my first attempt at creating a keyable font and I am glad with the outcome.

Words are an indelible part of everyday life and fonts provide us with the opportunity to omplete wstring words together to express ourselves. It feels good to be in a position were I can create fonts that can be used to express self and I look deeply forward to making a font set cith numbers and punctuation marks sometime soon.

I created a card for the Christmas season, the card features colours that are reflective of the season, colours neatly composed in an intricate pattern of lines that evoke feelings of warmth, love and togetherness.

shebi vinzun

While working on a print project early this week, I created the character above: Shebi Vinzun( Shay-bee Vin-soon). Shebi is the naive, universal warrior of peace. The creation of Shebi is inspired by a 'letter E' I drew, Ninjas and Cute starry-eyed characters.

Using Shebi, I have created a design(image above) that can be used for t-shirts, wallpapers or any bare surface that needs company. Feel free to download, edit and use. All I require is for you to send me photos of what you produced with this image and for you to spread the word about the download. Thank you.

About the name: I stumbled upon a Twitter session between two friends - during the session , the words Shebi and Vinzun were mentioned, I liked the asiatic vibe of the words and decided to use them for something. The character got drawn and the words came back to my mind and I felt the fit between the words and character was appropiate.

curvy lined army 1

Lately, some of the drawings I have been creating have somewhat surrendered to the invasion of the 'Curvy Line Army'* without hesitation. The 'curvies'(shown above) have crept in subtly and have carved a place for themselves in my draw territory. In recognition of their presence I present to you some 'curvies'* for your downloading pleasure. Below are some motifs I created using the 'Curvy Line Army'.

The 'curvies' can be patterned up or used as a standalone motif for anything from all over tee prints, wallpapers, greeting cards or anything that needs a lift. Of the elements of design, line happens to be my favourite because of its expressive quality and pliability. One afternoon, Line and I got engaged in a creative experiment and we ended up with the image above. I decided to call it Threadbare because of its stark thready appearance. The image has an understated elegance and mystique around it and looks like what would work when one is considering a custom escutcheon design. That said, I feel Threadbare would look good as a tee shirt or wallpaper design.

On day six of the British Council/AAF sponsorsed Graffiti workshop, Ayo felt it would be major if we got a song together for the graffiti project, the good thing was we all felt the same way so on day seven, with beats supplied by Bolaji(EYME) and with the production expertise of a guy called Propeller, we got a - you guessed right a rapsong on. It was fun and spontaneous right from the start and truth is some of us had never studio rapped before.

The song references Lagos in line with the workshop theme of Lagos on my mind. Lastma, dirt, traffic, chaos, fun, hustle etc. Feel free to download. Let me know what you think of it. Thanks.

Draw your gun started life as an illustration for Threadless. The inspiration comes from mask type imagery and the classic Cowboy fight stance where the Cowboy has both hands close to his holster. Unfortunately, the guns never blazed their way into Threadless printland. However, since I still have the rights to the illustration I have put it up for yer downloading pleasure. Print it, stick it, talk about it, hate it, love it, stare at it. Whatever path you choose to take after downloading, just send us a photo and spread the word about the download. We decided to clip the wings of the beautiful but sullen fallen warrior lady* and we ended up what this badge like image. This image brings pictures of Emily the strange(character by Rob Reger) to mind only that it looks oriental. The illustration above finds life as a FWA wallpaper. Its called the activity mall, a joint where lots of its occupants make random decisions simultaeneously. Its an interesting cast of people with their contradictions, fears and angst. Presently, the mall features the saint and the devil, the upright guy and the bad guy, the live rock band etc. In this mall you never run out of mind and eye food. If you are hungry, do yourself a favour - download the mall and keep the aura of activity locked on your neccessity machine ( computer).
